The average SAT at a public school is 1000. The average at a top private is typically 1450. OP is below average at their school. Why is this surprising?

Average private school test score is 1235, while public is 1060. Compare apples to apples.

Not this year. The acceptance rate 2026 increased to 17% overall. In previous years, the overall AR was as low as 10%.
ED1 or ED2, check both Fall start and Febmester option.

If he’s in top 30 to 40 percent of class grade wise from a top private, no. But doesn’t sound like a good fit for a kid who wants southern. At our private, this kid would definitely get into Davidson and Boston College ED. I think w and l and Richmond are good suggestions.
