+1. Especially in the spring there are dozens of games every week in rec; DD would be doing a bunch this weekend but for the rain. She gets $40/game.

Good money for a young teen.

Softball is
Potomac Valley Officials Association in Loudoun County (pvoa.org).
Northern Virginia Softball Officials Association in Fairfax/Alexandria/Arlington/DC (they also have the private schools like National Cathedral School, Georgetown Day School, Potomac Schools, etc). NVSUA.org
If she signs up now, there will be some training in August and she can get started in the fall with rec ball and some travel (USA softball)
USSSA does different training. Reach out to State Director Eddie Small or Colin Clarke (UIC)
There are some girls umpiring. I worked with two 15-year-olds just last week in a USSSA tournament. Most of the umpires are men, but they're all very supportive of youth umpires, male and female. We need more female umpires in the girls' game -- it's good for the players to see.
Pay isn't bad for a teen. Rec ball is around $75 per game now for 90 minute NNI. Travel is $65 for 75 minutes NNI but you'll do four or five in a day and eight or nine on a weekend.
