Here's a list of the community-based PKEEP programs this year. Many of them are a progression of their daycares though, so idk how many spots will open for PreK4.

Yes that's unlikely. If you are willing to travel a little further there are absolutely schools that will have space for your kid, but if you prefer other options that is great too!

If you live in NW you have an in-boundary option as well - it's got a guaranteed space for your kid but many, many NW schools are able to accommodate all or almost all IB kids. You move to the bottom of the IB waitlist if you submit a lottery application now.

I agree with these except Sela (I would not do any bilingual school unless you plan for the child to continue in that language) and would add Dorothy Height and/or Thompson. Depending on where in NW you live and where you work, there are other good options. It's an easier year than usual to get into prek

What schools in NWDC did you like for your kids that we should explore which might still have space for our PK4 for the preK program?

We can pay for aftercare.

None.

NW is a big place - what neighborhood are you in?

I agree with advice to check short waitlists - several good options for PK4 in NW DC. You can also look at the list of community-based options which you'd have to reach out to independently.

You can start here with the short waitlist grid. Search by PK4 and your ward/neighboring wards, and anywhere with a 0 deep waitlist would mean you could enroll (or at worst become #1 on the waitlist). Depends on where in NW you’re looking, but there are several solid options. May not be a forever home, but your kid would do great for a year until assumedly eligible for your in-bound K. Would narrow it down to a few based on proximity and then ask any questions specific to the school(s) back here. https://www.myschooldc.org/short-waitlists
