Trying to kill dogs is not a problem?

He isn't trying to kill dogs. Its up to you to teach your dog not to pick up and eat everything he sniffs on his walks. You live in a city, in case you haven't noticed.

Silly me, I'll get right on that and communicate to my dog that eating chicken off the street is a bad idea. Dude targets people and animals without provocation. Sorry if that is triggering to some of you.

It's not triggering to us, dear. But apparently it's triggering to you.

You're the epitome of someone who should never have a dog since clearly you do nothing to train your dog and want the world to adjust to you.

It's spicy over here in the Local Politics Forum. Not triggered at all. I could also argue that you're the epitome of someone who angrily generalizes about random people on the internet? I'm lucky to have a cool and steadfastly sweet dog that is well trained (okay, maybe moderately well trained when in close proximity to desirable food). But my dog is always on a short leash in public areas. I love animals but I get that many people don't. I've also seen how dog or animal anxiety can be real and devastating. That said, walking by an individual who gratuitously curses, uses misogynistic language, and threatens your dog with violence is jarring.

He has definitely yelled at my dog before. But most of the times I pass by he says nothing.

Yes, he does curse and rant. Not every time someone passes by, but often. He also relieves himself in the corner of the parking lot.

Idk if it’s the same guy but someone at that location also said nasty misogynist things to both me and (separately) a friend a few years ago.And I don’t have a dog.

Just find a way to avoid him and his lunch remnants. Living in an urban area often means you need to find ways to exist in the midst of people much less fortunate than you.

I posted on the other threads that I walk through the alley all the time because I park at WF and go to CVS first. Duane has never yelled at me, nor have I ever seen anything like that from him. This sounds like a blatant lie.

I've been buying Streetsense from him for years. He became so successful, all while training other men, that he now prints his own publication. He writes, gets his own sponsors, and prints it. I don't like his new online publication (with the QR code) but this sounds like a major hit pieces.

It's definitley a YOU problem. It sounds like you're an @sshole dog owner.

I'm surprised that a dcum search didn't reveal any threads about this individual. An unhoused older man, Duane, who refers to himself as "the hobo," sits outside the CVS on Wisconsin in Tenleytown. He has a reputation for cursing at women (calling them MF'ers and racists) and yelling at dog owners. He also intentionally scatters chicken bones throughout a wide radius of his sitting his area with the clear intent to hurt dogs. I've been on the receiving end of his rants. He threatened to kill my "MF'ing dog" when we were walking by (at least 8ft. away from him and heading north on the sidewalk, not towards the parking lot) and calls me a "racist b" every time I walk by him. I live in the area and as much as I want to change my pharmacy and grocery store routine, this is the most convenient. After looking online, it appears that these behaviors have been ongoing for YEARS. Has anyone ever tried to call law enforcement after being harassed? It just seems wild to let behavior like this continue when women and dog owners are regularly impacted by him.
