We've been using Bay Area Medical Alert. It has the neck pendant or you can wear it in a wristband. It also has a couple of 'buttons' we put in the bathrooms.

My mom won't wear an apple watch.

Thanks for this perspective. I think I’m going to try the Apple Watch route

I looked into it awhile back. Consumer Cellular had some kind of feature with a wearable button option I think and then of course Amazon echo. It became irrelevant because she went into a home.

I would check that here current phone and service don't have a bluetooth necklace and monitoring addition. Why get a new service when you can add to

We thought about this with our mother, too. Life Alert seems no longer relevant with all of the technology available. Our mother had cancer (twice) and has side effects from radiation that sometimes causes middle-of-the-night medical emergencies and she lives alone. We got her an Apple Watch that detects falls, and put Alexa's all over her house. If someone can push a Life Alert button they can call "Alexa, call my daughter." She never ended up calling us that way, because she never had an emergency where she could not use her phone and just call or text us, but they were comforting. About a year ago, she moved into independent living, and although it was an adjustment she now loves it. She has a lot of new friends, activities to do every day, and if she has a medical emergency (which she did once) she has a rope to pull in every room. The paramedics came immediately in the middle of the night and took her to the ER. She's 81, and very independent with no cognitive impairment. She drives, etc., so it's just like having her own apartment with built in activities, meals (if she wants), friends, etc.

Should note that she lives in NOVA.

My mom is in her mid-70s and basically lives alone most of the year. She has diabetes and has been dealing with complications from it.

I would like to get her some type of life alert service but have no idea where to start, well outside of life alert. Any recos would be greatly appreciated.
