Need more information. I don’t think one parent gets to make a unilateral decision. Also can’t fathom why a mother would not want her child home for summer. Where else would she live?

I have a daughter who’ll be 18 on the 26th. She wants to spend the summer here before college. She’s responsible, respectful, and has never had any issues. My wife doesn’t want her staying but won’t give a reason. My daughter had huge birthday plans, isn’t unhappy now, very hurt, and has been crying a lot.

What’s the best way to handle this?
