My adult life breaks into two pieces -- pre-parenthood (which happens to also be mostly pre-Covid and pre-Trump) and post-parenthood (which happens to be mostly during and post-Covid and during the Trump era).
The before times feel like another life on another planet. I sometimes feel nostalgic but I know it just doesn't exist. Even if I could travel back in time to experience that again, could I enjoy it? I am a different person now.
So I don't look back. I do at least love being a mom. Everything else is FUBAR but at least there is that.
