I had to google it, but I have a Maryland Bridge! I received mine when I was 17 and my dentist insisted on replacing it when it was about 25 years old. There was a lot of grinding, but it wasn’t that bad. No decay.

I had a crown removed to be replaced and my dentist used some kind of dental power saw on it. It was really loud. My jaw hurt so much for a few days after. Maybe the crowns which attach the bridge have to be removed the same way?

Has anyone had a Maryland bridge removed? Mine's about 32 years old and there are signs of some type of trouble around it and it needs to come off to examine the area but I know there are concerns about damaging the tooth that it's bonded to. It does require some specialized equipment. My dentist is out of the country at the moment and also does not want to do it.
