Which JFK terminal? They are currently rebuilding Terminal 1, the first phase opens later this year. The new Terminal 6 also opens this year (taking footprint of old T6 and T7). With those improvements all the terminals will be up to modern standards.

It was Jet Blue’s terminal so I think it was 5. I rode the train to several terminals and they were all in bad shape with no place to sit. One of the employees said they had to remove chairs because of the homelessness problem.

No layovers for me. I did plenty when I had less money and they're so exhausting.

We avoid connections at ORD in the winter because of weather. We might also try to avoid MSP for the weather in the winter too.

no layovers unless you plan to stay the city for a week. for example its acceptable to fly to italy and stop in paris for a week, but its not acceptable to be in the airport it should be direct for each destination.

Hate JFK and Frankfurt. Otherwise, as long as there is a lounge, I'm good.

I think about potential weather at the layover point, whether it's just a crazy busy airport that will take a long time like Heathrow, and whether I will have to clear customs or pick up luggage depending on the rules and my destination

ORD can't handle the snow, but is better now that the runway layout has been re-engineered.

MSP and DEN can handle snow and are good connection options for me.

I avoid IAH and DFW in summer.

I avoid all NYC if possible, because of the congested airspace.

for overnight flights to Europe, I would much rather have a daytime connection in the US and then get a direct flight to my final destination. That way I can get some natural light in the morning and am better adjusted to the new timezone. If I have a morning connection within Europe, I inevitably sleep on that flight and then have more trouble adjusting to the time zone. I also started avoiding middle east connections after Oct 7 for flights to Asia - too much risk of disruption.

I choose layovers in the country of origin, if possible to avoid customs during the layover. Other than that, I avoid DFW and IAH as well as Frankfurt.

I don't like de Gaulle but that's about the only place I try to work around.

Mostly in the sense I don't want to connect in US on way back from Europe because I don't want to have to take my luggage out and back on. I also dislike Newark airport so do not fly through there and just did La Guardia and won't again either. I like JFK!

The layover matters to me so much that I will pay more just to avoid certain locations. JFK and Hartsfield are on my no list. Also, if I'm flying internationally I prefer a layover in a country I haven't been to rather than flying to Logan or Charlotte(Jet Blue) and then going to the destination country.

Anyone else like this?
