What about on the Maryland side???
MD FUSION?
MSI gold? Is that a good option???
I need a good option for my highly competitive and frankly a little bit prideful U14. The travel level at MLS NEXT is absolutely too much for our family, and ECNL looks much worse. He does not want to play D1 and knows he will not go pro. He does not want to leave the sport. Does he go down to an NAL team at his own club? Does he move to one of the above options? Potomac/Rockville adjacent.

NAL seems like less travel, but you'll still have to go to PA. Bethesda has NAL. So does Liverpool, but that's out of your desired area. National League (NL) games might be a bit closer to home (PPA, MSI Gold). With the National1 League coming who really knows what will happen with NAL and NL competitions. EDP teams might be your best bet to reduce the travel (Juventus, lower-level Potomac and Achilles).

Most clubs run in house rec programs at that age but starting at U11 GFR does NCSL rec league which can be fairly competitive

It doesn't get much closer than Arlington if you are in Falls Church especially for a niche product.

Does any club at the U9-U10 Boys level have competitive recreational? We are looking for a middle ground between travel and Recreational. Only one I heard is at Arlington Soccer and Alexandria Soccer Association. We are in Falls Church and looking for something little closer.
