When I was in my 20s, the ultimate sex ed book was called The Guide to Getting it On or something like that.

Why? Is it better for them for learn from porn or clueless friends? Whats wrong with having a book in the house that they can read or not read if they choose not to…

Great find with Scarleteen. I remember there being an abundance of these type of sites when I was growing up, but they seem less circulated these days. I read plenty of cosmo articles, but also had other, more reputable sources.

I recently heard about a website : amaze.org that is supposed to have great sex ed content for teens. You can make a playlist of videos for your kid to watch. I haven't had a chance to check it out in depth, but it looks to be very sex-positive and informative.

Older teen is progressing slowly but surely on the intimacy scale with 1+ yr partner. We always provided changing bodies type of books as kids got older and as you can probably tell we talk about these things but I think I want to leave around a reference book on the mechanics of sex, what feels good to the other person, how to advocate for one’s own pleasure and reciprocate - like a good, liberal book that is teen and first timer friendly that is more about intercourse. I ordered one recently, Sex Plus, and it is good but not exactly what I was looking for. TIA!
