Personally wish I had invested when I was younger. I was able to save on a 40k income, so if I had invested a little I'd be better off today. I'm glad I am in the market at all now with my small gains.

And I understand people being concerned by wealth gap, but my personal view is that I can only control my own finances and make the best of what I have financially. There always will be people with much, much more than me and it's not something I can change.

My stocks are doing wonderfully, which is the silver lining in this awful situation. I too cashed out some of my portfolio, to hedge against Trump-related market chaos, but it turns out I made more much more money than I tabled.

I wouldn't be surprised if we had a correction at some point. It's long overdue. That will be fine too. However please bear in mind that the market does not reflect the average person's economic woes. Hard times for working and middle classes does not necessarily translate to a stock market crash... and vice versa.

I think we will see a global recession if the war in Iran keeps oil, fertilizer and other primary goods at scarcity levels, but the US will be one of the wealthy nation's that is the least impacted. Of course US citizens will think they're majorly impacted, because they don't look outside of their own borders to compare their wealthy to other people's poverty.

And in all that, the stock market might not be much impacted. AI development is something that needs to be watched, in terms of stock market progression. Not that I think a bubble is going to burst any time soon... but a stock market correction is more likely to come from that than to be directly related to an oil recession.

If it helps, Warren Buffett believes valuations are stretched and not attractive. It’s a good time to reevaluate your exposures and make sure your asset allocation is within your risk tolerance. I assume you periodically rebalance, right?

Yeah, it's messy. I'm a bit older than my younger sister, who's a medical resident. She's struggling with just rent, gas, and basics for her and her dog right now. She can't afford to be in the stock market.

You are right. Only those who have extra money to invest are gaining. It helps middle class some, upper quite a bit more, and billionaires massively.
