If the male teacher is smart, he would give it to his wife or girlfriend or potential girlfriend.

I heard most men only get flowers at their funerals, so I now don't hesitate to give living men flowers.

God I'm glad my kids are all past the age where you have to send stuff like that to school.

Bringing a flower for the teacher isn't because teachers like receiving random flowers, it's a way for kids to learn about showing gratitude. Accepting them with grace is a thing your teacher does for your child's benefit.

I worked with a woman who had a gym teacher husband. He got flowers, brought them home, and she enjoyed them.

Is liking flowers a gendered thing?

Yes. Schools that do this provide vases for the teachers.

Male teachers work in a women-dominated environment, and are very OK with receiving flowers and cards! Most of my children's male teachers were sensitive and emotionally aware (apart from one 12th grade super old school math teacher).

Personally, I never give flowers because I don't know how long the bouquet has to sit there before they get home and put them in water (or are they going to keep them at school in a vase, and then you bring a vase too?). But if you want to give flowers, please don't worry about the sex of the recipient!

I mean i dont think anyone would enjoy a single flower, but i guess the idea is to create a boquet? If it were me I wouldn't bring it home but would leave it on my desk for the week.

If youre bringing it for female teachers bring it for the dude too. But i would probably not bring it to anyone.

I'd do it anyway - and, yes, if every child brings a flower, it will make a bouquet - he'll either bring it home or leave it at school on his desk and enjoy the thought, just like all the other teachers.

I would say probably not. What on earth is he going to do with a bunch of single flowers? This is true regardless of gender… make a really random bouquet?
