That said, I don't even do gift cards anymore. Where I live, teachers make about what I do (over 100k) and it feels odd to be giving them gift cards. They are educated professionals. I nice note feels appropriate.

It’s not a cash tip or a bonus. It’s a token of appreciation. More than $30 is bribery IMO.
