Had some triple great experiences with some fundamentally sound coaching until the current season where there is crazy favoritism and no development. They truly wreck it by breaking up established teams at the Majors level and there’s no team cohesion. Just not fun anymore. Rigged dad ball drafts where teams are just stacked with kids from the same travel team who are in the league to just be eligible for summer tournament. Zero competitive balance.
I noticed BCC select uses different age cut off (April instead of Sept) and has tightened age band (9-10, 11-12, 13-14) instead of (9-11, and 10-12). May help some of the younger kids shine a bit more?
What are these tryouts like in BCC and KOA? MCLL tryouts are a complete joke.
If the goal is improving to the point where you enjoy the sport and develop to credibly be able to play HS JV or V baseball, is BCC select the place to go? Koa?
Depends on your high school’s program. Some bcc selects or comparable koa house baseball will be fine but for more competitive programs your son will need to play some travel ball and do additional hitting/throwing/fielding work.
