Maybe I was weak, but I was 6’0” in high school.

Haha.

My child's seriously injury was from slipping on wet leaves when walking, despite playing 2 sports.

Sports allow children to being active and social.

I was a serious ballet dancer growing up and had many more serious injuries than my child.

I know musicians with overuse injuries.

Injuries happen.
Accidents happen.

This is a very unique post.

This is a ridiculous question. Perhaps parents should not let their kids learn to drive because they might get involved in a car accident which could result in thousands of dollars of medical expenses.

Best to let them sit at home on a couch playing video games with strangers around the world. No injuries there.

You can still screw up your joints from tennis, basketball, and baseball

If your parents have good jobs they have good health insurance and therefore the injuries don't cost much money. Time to rehab a torn ACL or rest and heal from a concussion is the biggest challenge, not the $$

We were very lucky, not once in their actual sports.

I had a number of serious sports injuries and coached gymnastics, and this concern never crossed my mind.

I wish I had your genes. I got injured just from causal jogging

I thought your schtick was that your parents didn't know about sports so they never exposed them to you and now you are living with regret... this is a new angle for you.

Well spotted.

No, but you bring up a good point. Both my kids had injuries in travel games that cost much more than the travel teams. I never did travel growing up and was never injured.

It would seem the greater concern would be the actual injuries?
