She’s implying that no one in their right mind would go there out of state unless it was the only school they were accepted at.

OP if this is how you’re picking schools, maybe hire a counselor.

I have daughter at NDSU and she loved it and really enjoyed her four years there. Graduating in a few weeks and already has a job in her field. Honestly, Fargo is better than Grand Forks IMHO.

University of Nevada-Reno is very close to Lake Tahoe. Maybe Cal Poly SLO? It’s near the beach and the mountains and it’s a pretty well regarded school on the west coast.

Don't know how envsci is at either school, but I'd definitely rather spend four years in Fargo than Grand Forks!
