They’re going to question adding English 12 to that, and I’m not sure what block it would even replace as in 11th grade you still need sequential electives and such to graduate. We would not do this at my school.

Paying for it over summer is probably your best option.


You aren't required to pass a personal finance test in 11th grade. A lot of seniors take personal finance.

In FCPS ENG 111 and 112 at NOVA are consider equivalent to 12th grade English if you you do individual dual enrollment.

Take it summer after junior year. Multiple kids at DD’s school have done this. They went to Nova for a year and then transferred to UVA. Seems very straightforward. My DD wants the senior experience but I would support graduating early.

Yes, 4 years of English is required. Summer school or two English classes in a single year.

But also you can take a very limited partial schedule senior year, just 2 or 3 classes if you have met all the requirements.
