That’s not correct. All teams make their district playoffs, at least in public schools.
Not sure how it works in all private school conferences for privates, but for the VISAA state tournament there's a coach's poll and the top 8 make it. It's a weird system.

Does anyone have any idea how it is determined which teams play? For the district. Particularly for FCPS/Northern Va?
