It works in school situations that have little to no socio-economic diversity.

It does NOT work in schools with high FARMs. There are far too many variables for teachers to handle.

If you want actual AAP I would go to center school. With cluster model teacher has kids who are below or behind and need small group instruction, AAP kids who need separate instruction and in between kids. Oftentimes the AAP kids get the printouts and work on your own stuff since teachers are trying to do multiple things at once.

I believe the center school to provide much better instruction from comparison of parents of kids in AAP centers.

When teacher has the whole class going at faster a pace and using AAP curriculum it’s just a different experience.

In our school I’ve not seen anyone return from center AAP school but I’ve definitely seen kids leave to go to center school after a year of waiting and trying out non AAP center school

I know this has been discussed ad nauseum, but I’m looking for anyone willing to share recent experiences with the cluster model in local programs. We love our local school, but weren’t sure how this type of grouping actually works in practice and the info session was more big picture.
