I agree with everything you said, but they don't project capacities, they project enrollments.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Nobody is thinking about these things. They are expanding Brookfield with current capacity 650, 2030 projected capacity of 550 to capacity of 1000, and Lees Corner current capacity 448, 2030 capacity 423, to capacity of 900. These schools are within a mile of each other...

They never reassess the need for expansions. It means someone might have to come up with revised plans and we couldn't possibly inconvenience them, even if it would save money or allow funds to be spent more wisely.

If you think this is bad, just look at the plan to build Dunn Loring ES - a new 900-seat school surrounded by under-enrolled elementary schools in Vienna.

Last night as an Armstrong parent, I laid awake thinking about our schools renovation and expansion, bemused as to the fact they are expanding it to 800 when it has a mere low to mid 300s student population (currently 324).

Then I took a gander at neighboring Aldrin's enrollment which is in the mid 400s (currently 454).

If they are so tremendously expanding Armstrong to 800 when it's enrollment is far below, and nearby Aldrin has decently low enrollment too, is it likely, that with changes in the design and program capacity of Armstrong at completion, I ponder if it is probable that Aldrin will be consolidated into Armstrong.

At this point it's difficult to ascertain whether or not this will occur.
