Totally agree. Some women push the navy/black combo as being modern and "fresh" but in reality it just looks like a big mistake.

Don’t wear navy trousers and/or match the fabric — it will look like you tried to make a suit and failed. You want contrast.

White, cream, tan, green, shades of red, brown, grey — literally anything besides navy.

Light blue, purple, olive, pink. I love mixing navy with color!

Denim.

Red, white, tan, hot pink, beige

Chocolate brown and navy is popular this year, but agree anything other than navy would work.

Tan/khaki, white, or a pattern that includes navy but not so much that the matching/clashing is an issue.

I can't pull it off in pants, but colors like pink can work.

I get it. If it was a navy pattern or tweed or something it would work with navy pants, but doing the reverse is harder.
Try burgundy, tan, or white pants. Certain grays, if theyre blue enough. And black with navy is fine so long as there is enough contrast.

Depends on how comfortable you want to be, but J McLaughlin has a bunch of pants in the color “stone” (light khaki) that go well with Navy.

I have a navy blazer that I thought would get a lot of use at work, but I'm having trouble finding skirts and trousers that work with it. It's practically impossible to match with navy trousers, both because of getting the perfect color and because of the fabric. What other colors could I wear? Not jeans because that's too casual for my work space.

I guess it's also not just the color, but the fabric of the trouser that needs to work. I think that's hanging me up more than color.
