DS attended 3 proms his senior year (his own, his girlfriend from another school, and a close friend's junior prom so she had someone to go with). He wore the same suit but 2 different ties to coordinate with the girls' dresses (his girlfriend wore the same lovely dress to both his prom and hers). Suits are generally easier to repeat than dresses, so boys do seem to have it easier in this regard.

DDs are currently seniors & will have different dresses for both proms they go to this year. For their junior year, they only attended their own prom but did end up at a few different homecoming dances and their friend group did a dress swap.

Sadly yes two dresses. I made my DD pay for (or borrow) the second one because I think the whole thing is stupid and a waste.

DD wanted two dresses for different photos. Some girls borrowed or traded dresses. Others bought new ones. Others wore the same. A large group went to two at two schools.

I’ve gotten two dresses. Boys can change their shirt otherwise no one’s looking at them anyway.

same dress for prom in the same year. same suit/tux always. if in different years, different dress, and then maybe the dress from the year before.

Nope. Well, a girl might borrow a dress from a friend, but otherwise, the same dress.

Last year my daughter dated a boy at a different high school. They both wore the same outfits to both proms.
