Is there a particular region, language or issue where your kid demonstrates deep curiosity and exploration? Kid has all summer and early fall to dig into something they can write about on the essays. I don't remember the supplemental q's but look at them now and think about how you can answer them and what new experience might strengthen your answers. Good luck!
Agree with focusing on specific region, issue, etc. Write policy position papers, volunteer/intern with advocacy group that works in your language or with people from your region.
