What made you want to go to Lewes Beach?? Seems like you had simply no idea what you were doing. It’s so easy to spend 30 seconds googling a place before going to it? This isn’t the beach’s fault— it’s your fault for being ignorant.

Commercial development tends to ruin the charm that popular beach destinations may have once had. The east end of Long Island retains it somewhat in places, especially on the north fork and out of season. The Atlantic beaches out there are mostly pristine and lovely.

Also maybe St Michaels or other towns more on the Chesapeake? I think the older towns are not the beach towns.

The mid-Atlantic beach communities are not what most people would consider charming. There are beaches that are wide and empty and (imo) beautiful but not cute beach towns.

If that’s what you are looking you would do better in the Northeast— parts of coastal RI, Mass., Maine.

I mean ... did you look at pictures before you left? The beaches on the east coast aren't Caribbean level beaches, it sounds like you had unrealistic expectations because you didn't do your research.

You went to the Maryland eastern shore in late march or early April with unreasonable expectations. Go in summer while embracing all the quirkiness of Maryland eastern shore during its high season.

. Atlantic ocean is mostly ugly. OBX is terrible for me. I like Ft Myers and St Pete beach area and nothing in the states equals San Tropez

I’m not a huge fan, but wow. You are extremely rude. If you can’t appreciate a natural coastline, sandy beaches and some flowers and a boardwalk, I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe try the Maldives?
