I don't understand the "it's so bad" comments. I've lived here for 40+ years, and have always had spring allergies. It's as bad as always.
This is not normal, the fast warm up is making the pollen more dense and we aren't having the rain we usually have to wash it down.
Were having weather that's more normal for the deep south at this time of year, where I lived for a while. This year I'm having to stay inside or wear a mask outside to be able to sleep well at night.
Pollen seasons here are usually long but not as intense.
