WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM? You go on and on about Hughes and Herndon and their feeder schools (I am confident you are the person who is so deeply offended that kids from Coates and McNair go to Carson and will go to Skyview). Just stop it. You are racist and classist and it's really sick.

Yep. I knew it. The low cost of the camp is a red flag. So many people will want to ship off their problem kid to be someone else’s problem while they go off to work.

It's the only camp my kids ever went to with multiple cop cars sitting outside every day, from the start of the day. The camp itself is pretty cool, and the kids have a lot of freedom to choose what they want to do, but there are kids who need the extra guidance.

It’s the same reason middle school after school programs have been subsidized historically: middle schoolers are the number one demographic to find trouble if left to their own devices. They are too young to work, too old for a babysitter, and their brains are too immature to make good choices. A subsidized camp saves the county money in the long run when they don’t have to deal with so many issues.

All middle schoolers in Fairfax County are offered this opportunity. The VIP camps are held at multiple middle schools. No gotcha here, LOL!

I had applied for my kid into this VIP summer camp program and we got selected. I am lookingp to see if anyone has had any experience in sending your kid to the VIP program. The cost is 100$ for the whole Month. Just curious to see how the overall exp was and the quality of the summer camp
