Both sides are/were too intent on changing culture rather than improving things that matter to the general US population. Anyone who stops focusing on gender nonconformity and avoids getting into stupid shit with the Pope of all people will be a massive win for the whole country. No one seems to know how to keep the focus on the important stuff and get the job done so they focus on changing US culture and shoving weird stuff into the spotlight.
