Rigor that future Ivy League kids take, so taking most rigorous level class that’s offered at that high school in all core subject areas or taking 6 AP classes per semester, IB student, etc.

Yes, 32 is the 25th percentile, but only 6% submitted ACT score. So on one hand thinking with so many going test optional at least they know student did well vs assuming didn’t submit bc had low score. On the other hand, maybe they want to keep their mid 50% accepted range high, so would rather take a test optional kid than a 32 kid, so they appear elite. Can’t get in their head, but they’ve certainly gotten in mine!

At our HS, a perfect GPA has been required the last few years. I think kids definitely get in TO but I’ve always been told that they will wonder why you didn’t submit if coming from a high school where submitting is the norm. My current senior didn’t even bother to apply because he had a weak test score. I think a 32 ACT is decent and probably worth submitting.

32 is top 5-10% ??

Thx. UMD decides on acceptance major blind and then decides if get into major or just general admittance. (Not looking for a limited major so just asking about rejection in general.)
