Whenever her pull up is dry. If its still wet, she still needs it.

I think 3 or 4 is very common age to stop. But my oldest didn't stop until age 9.

DS1 we switched from night diapers with booster pad to goodnights at 8 and he still in them now at 9

Kids know it’s going to be discarded so it makes sense to use it for its intended purpose. It’s not about being lazy, it’s being efficient.

My daughter is almost 5, and my DH feels the same as yours! I recently realized she’s intentionally peeing in her pull up out of laziness. I had to explain that she needs to pull it down/up like underwear to use the potty, and she’s only supposed to pee in it if she’s asleep. There’s much less pee in it now, but she’s definitely using it every night so I don’t think she’ll be ready for diaper free overnights any time soon.

DS1 always peed a ton overnight. It would regularly leak, and we needed to use booster pads. This continued long past when he became potty trained. Night pees became less frequent around 6-7, but didn’t fully stop until he was almost 8. There is a hormonal switch that tells your body not to produce as much pee overnight. It doesn’t happen in some kids until later.

DD was night trained at 2.5 (same time as day time training).

The girl did at 2 when daytime potty training happened. I don’t get why night and day time potty training was different for my boys.

It’s completely normal for kids to be in nighttime diapers even in elementary school. My nephew is almost 8 and still has them.

We kept her in overnight pull ups for longer because everyone said they’d have accidents but mine never had an overnight accident after 2.5 when she potty trained. In fact, many months later she went through a period of peeing in the pull-up on purpose first thing in the morning and told us she was too lazy to get out of bed. That’s when we stopped doing pull ups. I learned a lesson there.

It won't happen until the child is developmentally ready and you (and they) can't control that. It's partly genetic, so when did you/DH become able to stay dry all night? I know plenty of people (usually boys) still using a diaper at night at age 8. Girls are usually a little earlier.

Why have you spent so much time in the infants and toddlers forum that you know what there are “millions of posts” about? I actually did do a search and returned no useful results but this search algorithm isn’t exactly the best.

How old were your kids when they stopped needing diapers overnight? My 4.5 year old is still wearing them and having massive pees overnight. My husband thinks she should be out of diapers by now.
