So a a person who has never taught before can get placed at school before a teacher with time in Fairfax?!? That seems so wrong for teachers who have experience and time in the county

Fairfax County is huge and there is a wide range in quality of schools. Being destaffed and forced to transfer is a big deal.
As well as a wide range of possible commutes. A teacher living in Reston may not want to drive out to Lorton.

Anonymous wrote:I was destaffed my first year teaching in FCPS. They hold a job fair to match destaffed teachers with open spots. Teachers can apply to schools individually too. My school ended up taking me back, when they received updated registration numbers and slots reopened.
