I think you’re right. It probably isn’t worth lawyer fees for several hundred dollars though.

DS is a young adult with a coaching license trying to earn spending money for college so he took a job as a youth soccer coach. He gets paid for practices but just learned several games into the job that they aren’t going to pay for coaching games. That seems so strange to me. He double checked thinking it was a misunderstanding but was told no. Why wouldn’t they pay for games? He loses a few hours on game day between travel, warming up the team and the game. He doesn’t want to rock the boat because he otherwise loves the job. Hourly pay for practices is good considering his age and how well coaching works with the rest of his schedule. He isn’t going to quit but has learned for next time to ask questions about what is considered paid work. I just feel like they are taking advantage of him. I’m just curious if anybody has encountered this pay policy?
