I would definitely paint over it since the color is blue.

I think in your situation I would try to design around the blue first— finding some bold abstract artwork for example, or something else that might cut the “beachy” feel.
You might even be able to include sage green (or other greens) with it, depending on the shade of blue. Blue and green are natural pairs

Taping is totally unnecessary. Just use a good stiff brush to cut in. If OP's room is a light blue and she uses a high quality paint, one coat may be enough.

You aren’t excited about the color. Wait until you find one that excites you.

OP here and I've painted every room in my house and every place I've lived in before so I am not a rookie at this and know what I am getting into! I can definitely do it in a day...But Idk if I want to. I do think it IS tedious as a process: I know my back will hurt and it means sacrificing a whole weekend day to it. I am thinking I might keep it light blue and work with it. I just really want to avoid a "coastal" feel because I do not like a beachy sort of decor.

If you truly like sage green and it will make you happy to see this new color, then by all means I say go for it!

Plus if you telecommute - a new, favorite wall hue may make you more motivated overall!

Id paint it but not those colors.

Both colors are nice! Will the furniture, flooring and window treatments work with both colors?

My office is gray and I regret not choosing a warmer color, less sterile.

I prefer blue. I find green a difficult color to coordinate.

One day of painting will not kill you.

Do you want it to be sage green instead of light blue? If yes, paint. If you can't decide, flip a coin.

Painting isn't grueling. So dramatic.

Keep it light blue.

It is currently a light blue shade, formerly dcs' playroom. I am considering repainting sage green. Would you do it? I paint myself so it would be a whole day affair and pretty grueling. I cannot decide what to do.
