They are in a polygamous relationship. There was a show on tlc i thinkcalled polyfamilg where 2 couples lived together and each woman had children with the others husband.

Used to be you needed to be married to afford a house and eat. Now you need additional incomes. Ain’t nothing going on but the rent.

I think the part that seems hard to understand is at least 2 people have no genetic or legal ties to the child. So is it fair to have everyone pitching in? Is it truly equal?

Look I'm not interested in polyamory but during the newborn stage the idea of having two whole extra parents to take kid shifts would be kind of amazing.

I know swingers that did this. Both couples raise the kid.

I have a degree in sociology. I think it really helped me think deeper about social norms. Yes, in our society this is super weird, and you have the right to be curious. But if you take the time to think deeper, you'll see that this is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

What matters most is that that child is loved. There are so many foster children and children who are in group homes, or in homes where they are neglected. Those are the people we should judge the most.

I am personally open to polyamory, not exactly this dynamic but honestly it would be kind of nice having 4 people to help raise a child, especially as a bi woman it would be kind of fun. The kids may have a different viewpoint on life than you want them to have, but they will be okay and will make their own choices as adults as to what they want their family to look like.

The more people welcome a baby, the better, OP. Who cares about who loves who? They support each other, that's clear. It's heart-warming to see. Your job is to express congratulations, wish the birthing mother a swift recovery, and send a baby gift if you're close to these 4 people.

A friend just post that 4 people (2 men, 2 women) are welcoming a baby. One of women is carrying the baby and the babies last name is man1-man2.

I'm like...what? I don't understand...

A few years ago she posted that her and the two guys bought a house together but no mention of the other girl.

Any thoughts on what that's all about?
