I’m trying to understand what HS AAU team structure is like, and if there are fewer teams? For example, I see that PPA has a regional, showcase and national team (at least for boys, I don’t know about girls). Does that mean there are only 3 teams for all HS grades? Would love more insight on this, since she loves to play, but frankly isn’t really a top player in her age group.

Usually there is a team per year (u15, u16, u17), at least for boys.

The number of teams is program specific. Larger programs such as PPA have enough coaches and players to field multiple teams.
