pinterest is social media. Your 15 year old should not be on it.

Pinterest used to be so handy but it's all advertisements, AI-generated fake crafts and recipes, and really weird toxic stuff. It's terrible.

Pinterest is no longer the Pinterest we know: where you’d pin recipes, cute decor ideas, etc. It has turned to basically another toxic social media site. There is a lot of dark and inappropriate stuff on Pinterest. I’d not allow that app/website

No idea who he is, but whatever problems you see with him, you need to I have conversations with your child about why those things are problems.

When my daughter was under eighteen, she wanted to go to some singer that sang horrible stuff about women and raping and all kinds of things and she didn't care about the words, didn't really hear or sing them, just liked the music.

And so we talked a lot about principles, and the fact that even if we're not hearing the words part of us is, and who we're supporting, etc. She decided not to go after all.

Talk about values (your values, family values, your kid's values) and the importance of our values and why we can live our most full lives when we make decisions based on our values above anything else.

DC 15 is a big fan of the app Pinterest, where they post often. I’m fine with this as they don’t give away any identifying information. I knew they posted often about a singer they like called Conan Gray but I didn’t know WHAT they posted until the other day. And umm..it’s NOT appropriate. I don’t even want to give examples. To say the least it is about how they are attracted to this Conan Gray guy.

This isn’t acceptable. I made them delete the account and all that. I’ve also tried teaching them more about digital literacy. What other steps should I take to avoid a similar incident in the future?
