When my daughter was under eighteen, she wanted to go to some singer that sang horrible stuff about women and raping and all kinds of things and she didn't care about the words, didn't really hear or sing them, just liked the music.
And so we talked a lot about principles, and the fact that even if we're not hearing the words part of us is, and who we're supporting, etc. She decided not to go after all.
Talk about values (your values, family values, your kid's values) and the importance of our values and why we can live our most full lives when we make decisions based on our values above anything else.
