If you are a strong student, going to Cornell is better than. The grade deflation helps differentiate students, and if you’re a top student there is nothing to worry about

Some schools publish and some don’t. Will vary by major as others have noted. If worried about admission to grad or professional schools admissions offices are aware of undergrad grading patterns and admit accordingly.

Rice has crazy grade inflation. The "President's Honor roll" is top 30% of the students and the GPA cut-offs are below and most semesters is a 4.0.
So 30% of Rice students each semester have perfect grades.

Fall 2025 4.000 Spring 2026 TBD
Fall 2024 3.945 Spring 2025 4.000
Fall 2023 3.941 Spring 2024 4.000

Pointless stat. Doesn’t show courses, majors, kind of high school, etc.

It is SO Major-dependent at every school, but especially big ones with distinct schools like Cornell.

Looking to find average gpa’s for Cornell, Rice, and USC. Does anyone know these can be accessed ? Worried about grade deflation and high pressure at Cornell and possibly Rice.
