Well I shop at that Nordstrom and my kids like the Zara, so I hope it doesn’t go away. And btw I never feel in danger when I go there.

I’ve agree it’s been a long decline, but there has been a rapid increase in decline recently with many long term stores leaving.

Yeah, it's called burying head in the sand in the name of equity. Never mind that Apple is closing two other stores at the same time, both are not unionized and both in struggling malls. Never mind that Towson has seen most nicer stores close. Never mind that Towson has increased problems with shoplifting and problematic behavior spurring a lot of these closures.

I went into the mall recently looking for something last minute at Macy's or Nordstroms. Which was a mistake. The mall is unquestionably declining. A lot of vacancies. Most of the usual upper midrange stores have pulled out. Macy's and Nordstroms were badly organized and pointless. Apple was probably the only store left that has any resonance or draw. I'm aware Towson mall now has a reputation for becoming popular with certain formerly urban demographics, and mentioning it doubtlessly raises some people's ire, but you can't deny it either. We all see it with our eyes and telling people it's racist to notice it isn't helping. Just like we all noticed when drug stores started locking everything up in certain areas.

Malls are also struggling in most places so it's not unique to Towson.

No, that mall is on the decline. Unsupervised teens causing trouble and already plenty of stores have left already. Just being there is bad for the Apple brand.

It's a bummer. The mall opened as a bigger, fancier mall and had more expansions in 10 years ago or so - but malls aren't as popular as they used to be. People are also getting scared off by fights/crowds of kids. All the shopping areas around here have youth policies - there's no more going to a moving or walking the mall like when we were kids.

We have a friend who attends TU. I think, like many malls, stores have left, vacancies occur, cheaper retail moves in, etc. There have been fights/assaults reported and there is a curfew.
