I have taken Flonase daily for months and 1-2 xyzal per day. I used payday eye drops but my eye dr prescribed something g that she said is better.

I’m so itchy and uncomfortable. I don’t even think there’s anything left except shots or sublingual drops. I’m barely outside and every room has an air purifier. I’ve been like this for all of my 50 years

I had the worst allergies of my life in New Mexico. Cottonwood, juniper, who knows what else. Had to take Sudafed and two antihistamines to function.

Its terrible and I looked it up today and read that Virginia has the worst allergies in all the united states!

Here's a tip I've given all of my friends with spring pollen allergies. Start taking your medication (ie Allegra) on Valentine's Day (February 14th) every year. That gives the medication time to build up in your system and there's no way to predict exactly when the pollen will hit (sometimes it's early) and how bad it will be each year. If you don't do this, even if there's snow on the ground and it seems counterintuitive, you actually wind up needing MORE medication later to reign the symptoms in. I learned this from an allergist. Tree pollen is out now, and it's bad. It's easy to see when it's the worst and when it starts to tamp down just by looking at the accumulation on your car. In addition to Allegra, you can use some over-the-counter medications (Pataday drops for the eyes and Nasonex spray for the nose). Grass pollen allergies typically kick up in July, right now it's tree pollen.

What symptoms do you get? How bad are they?

My seven year old is TRULY struggling this year. She was miserable with clear liquid streaming from her nose and eyes until Claritin kicked in.

It's been bad for me. But I live out in PWC on 5 acres of trees.

Just a tip, you can check the pollen count on any Weather app. Of note, this past week has been higher than any time since last May when it was peak levels for 2025.

We've been astonishingly free of allergies this year. Weird.

It's the same as every year +/- a bit. It could just be you as it was for me as I got older. Never had an issue, until all of sudden everything got to me and I had to start taking the Costco Zyrtec.

I basically can't go out in the spring without a mask due the allergies, or in the summer due to mosquitos (I'm a magnet for them). And the of course, I don't go outside when it's freezing cold in the winter, especially if there is ice on the ground.
