Ixl has a science/chemistry highschool course built into its platform. We've used ixl to supplement social studies and science and my kids have enjoyed it.

Khan lecture videos are very basic production (just someone writing with a pen). Look elsewhere for visual presentation.

Here is a class source that was recommended by Michelle Singletary of the Washington Post.

This!

Khan is intended to cover the full breadth but not dive in too deeply.

I would suggest that she focus on understanding each unit before progressing to the next and spend as much time as necessary on balancing equations (unit 4 in khan), using as many worksheets as necessary to make sure she is consistently able to do it. In my experience, balancing equations requires more time for some students than a chem class allows, and it's foundational to stoichiometry (unit 5) and the rest.

If a kid is nervous about their workload for Honors Chem, you don't have them prep by doing AP Chem.

To get exposure... I really like Bozeman Science videos on YouTube. The guys is good at explaining concepts (Chemistry playlist at right): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEoQ6TNLJl8&list=PL43285691048DAD00

My DD has decided to take honors chemistry but is anxious about workload across all classes next year.

She isn’t interested in any formal summer courses. Any recommendations for intro chem videos or courses she can casually work through this summer to get her feet wet for concepts?

Thx
