We have to do split because my husband is 9 inches taller than me!


We have a Casper Snow.

It is not obvious to me why you'd need a split because of height disparity--you might want a Cal King, which will accommodate both of you nicely! Smaller sheet selection than Eastern king, though.


Because adjustment that works for my shorter frame don’t hit him at the right place



My husband and I are 8 inches apart. We haven't found this to be an unworkable issue with the single adjustable base.

We have never had a problem with it, but we are also not cuddlers, so when its sleep time we stay on our own sides. The mattresses are heavy so they don't shift or ever create a space between.

DH and I switched to a separate mattresses with a split adjustable base years ago and we love it. We can each position head and feet as we like. We feel each other move around less. We essentially have two twin XL mattresses side by side. I will never go back.

After thirty years, we each have our own mattress and adjustable mechanism. We just put the beds together. We both sleep much better with our chosen mattress and head and foot adjustments. We have always slept with our own duvets.

My DH and I were looking for a new mattress and went to the Saatva store in DC to try some out. We ended up really liking the adjustable split mattress. We were not planning on spending quite that much on a bed (5k), but are thinking it might be worth it. I'm not necessarily wedded to that brand.

If you have a split adjustable bed, please share your experiences ... Would love to know brand, cost, downsides, etc. thank you!
