Look at the price for that same car from Fitzgerald. They have "no haggle" prices that are clearly posted. Do not pay 1 cent more than that.

Most of these services are very similar with possible better/different negotiated discounts... you would probably get a very similar deal through Costco, AAA, or a different Credit Union... all these services just email your info to their dealer network. If you want an actual "car buying service" you need a vehicle broker who (for a fee) searches all over the country for what you want and negotiates for you. Sometimes this is a much better deal even with the broaker fees.

Anyone use it? Did you find it useful?

I am in negotiations for a Bronco that is hard to find in this area and has extra options not standard. Dealer has already offered 3 percent off MSRP. I am planning to ask for more and don't mind the negotiating.

I went on the Navy Federal web site and it appears that this car buying service just puts you in touch with other dealers who have agreed to offer certain discounts (but as noted, I am asking for some options that are not standard so not sure there is a pre negotiated price on this). I have read the discounts are not that great and you can probably negotiate lower.

Is this vendor (TruCar) offering this service also getting a cut? I would rather keep this "cut" for myself.

Web site says average discount given to members is about what I have been offered. But doesn't look like I can get access to any more data on what people have paid unless I agree to be contacted by TruCar.

What have been people's experiences? Tips?
