She got me to stop answering questions with one word, or one sentence, but to reply in a paragraph, giving real examples. Things like that.


You are telling me you didn’t rip this story off from Wolf of Wall Street?


Is that in the movie? Maybe they ripped it off me, this was in the late 90’s.

It comes down to practice. Encourage your kid to apply to all kinds of jobs and interviews and do the interviews for practice. There is a ton of advice on YouTube and TikTok. Your kid should also sign up for classes that encourage discussion and presentations. Also there are many standard interview questions all available on the internet that your kid should write out answers for and have ready

My current college sophomore has had a bear of a time finding an internship. Looks like they will have to get a "regular job" this summer. They had 4-5 interviews but none yielded a second interview or offer. I think it comes down to the interview. DC is very quiet, introverted and interviewing definitely does not come naturally. DC has been to their college career office multiple times but they have not been helpful. Does anyone know of any reputable career counselors who can help with interview prep this summer so DC can hit-the-ground-running next year?
