I vote Derek!
And, congrats on a nice name you don’t hear much these days - good job!

It seems to be an unpopular opinion, but I like the look of the double r.

I like names that have multiple common spellings. It makes it harder for people that barely know you to find you online (which is a good thing in this day and age).

Actually Sean is the correct spelling. The others are anglo and american ified.

They’re all accepted and recognized spellings (in the US) at this point, though. It’s like Rebekah vs. Rebecca and Sarah vs. Sara. I’m American, so my viewpoint will obviously be American.

Derrick is the spelling that I prefer due to Derrick Levasseur. Kind of an obscure reference but that’s the only person I’ve heard of with this name.

Agree that Derek looks more fresh and modern. I know a Derrick whose name is short for Frederick.

It's a nice name, OP!

Derek

Derrick is a recognizable but IMO lesser variant

Derrek just looks illiterate

Agree.

No double R.

It's an okay choice made better by being rare these days.

I've seen Derek and Derrick. I prefer Derek.

My brother is Derek - no one has ever called him Rick and I think it’s a great name. Derrek seems like a mis-spelling to me. Derrick is not my preference personally because of oil derricks. I vote Derek!
