KG French and non French immersion AAP classes are mixed with non AAP kids.

At Churchill Road the AAP classes are not mixed, except for specials.

No, it’s because families want to maintain the French immersion AND access AAP full-time services.

This is why KG kids stay local. Kids not doing French immersion tend to go to the AAP center.

The FCPS capacity dashboard site indicates that fewer than 10 kids living within the Kent Gardens boundaries are attending Churchill Road this year. About 60% of the transfers into Churchill Road come from Spring Hill.

In my son’s third grade group there are two French AAP math classes. I don’t know how many English AAP math classes there are. There are also at least two AAP languages arts groups.

Most kids stay, we’ve known two families in the last 10 years who have moved to CRES (though I’m sure there are more, lol) and one of them ended up coming back to Kent gardens when their younger child didn’t qualify for AAP.

French immersion may be one of reasons that AAP kids stay.

That may be an additional reason, but it is not one of the main ones.

This is why they have orientations. Go to them.

Our 3rd grader got in AAP, and we will be moving to KGES district soon. I heard that a good amount of kids stay local. Does KGES have a full AAP class on every grade? Thank you.
