Your story is dubious.

I went to Pitt with private school kids and BCC and Whitman kids.

Yes, the yield is low but so what? Aren't you glad your expensively-educated children are popular admits with AOs? Wasn't that the point?

It's okay to understand that people might have a higher ranked dream school and go there. Nobody at Pitt gets offended by that.

The thing is that I actively like Pitt a lot as a college option so I mention it out of genuine interest.

OP, you understand DCUM is just a collection of random strangers and not a custom college counselor for you, right?

Last year Pitt got matriculants from GDS, Burke, Gonzaga, and SJC. They know the private school yield is low. But this is their model and it works for them.

When my first kid went through the application process in 2023, I found this bit of DCUM wisdom very helpful. It doesn't *have* to be Pitt, but the tip to find a rolling admissions school and apply early isn't a horrible one in the crap shoot of the college admissions game. I'm unclear why you seem to feel targeted. Like most things, take what works for you and leave what doesn't. No need to get you pants in a twist.
