I efiled my federal return on March 4th. My refund was direct deposited on March 10th.

I efiled via my accountant first week in March. She got acceptance letters from IRS and VA in 24 hours. I got the VA refund last Friday. IRS takes the amount we owe on April 15th.

I am hearing mix info - some of them are on time and others are taking very long

Op here. I e-filed and it is also direct deposit and the tracking site shows that it is accepted but not approved.

They should happen almost automatically, but if there are processing challenges or IT issues that need to be fixed the people who used to do that are either gone or doing a lot more work. Everything is very slow there now.

Yea who knows. When they take the $ it's immediate withdrawal from your account. We just did ours and are owed a lot of $ so we will see how long it'll take.

Last year took several months, I assumed because I submitted right near the deadline and heavy volume. We filed a couple of weeks ago this year so I thought it would be quicker, but still nothing.

Did you know the DOGE came through the IRS last year and helped get rid of almost 30,000 IRS employees, plus turned off a bunch of their IT contracts at random? Don't expect anything to work there and don't bother to call, no one is answering the phone.

It is very strange this year. It has been more than 30 days since I have submitted my returns with IRS but they were accepted and not approved yet. Is it common for refund timeline for this year?
