The only reason I would drop off is if my husband could pick her up.

It makes no sense to drive for four hours in one day. That’s insane.

Find a lover there and get a hotel room.

I likely would opt to just hang out.

I can ALWAYS find something to do to occupy my time.

Read magazines in the library, window shop at the mall or even find a nice, shady tree or bench & whip out a good book.

I think I would stay but I understand the strong appeal of being alone at home.

100% stay. Crazy not to, unless you had something pressing to do elsewhere. Sounds like a great 4 hours to explore the area or relax in a coffee shop witj a book, etc.

Definitely stay. I'd bring my laptop and get some work done (either work-work or personal admin stuff like travel planning or researching hot water heaters) then bring a book so I also get some relaxing. I might also see if there is a nail salon nearby. Could also fit in a grocery run if you bring a cooler.

Under no circumstances would I spend four hours in a car for an activity my kid is only at fir four hours. That's insane.

I’d find a carpool or not go. I’m being serious. An hour away!!! Y’all are crazy.

Stay. There are always errands that can be done - gas station, drug store, hardware store and online chores - making doc appts, online shopping, updating school documents. The driving time is wasted.

I’d hang around and shop, read, walk, FaceTime my other kids, etc.

My kid used to have a 3 hour practice that was an hour away. One thing I would do is pack coolers and use the time to go grocery shopping. Or I'd find space and get work done.

I personally would stay and hang around but the thought of a few hours by myself in a coffee shop reading or doing some work sounds like heaven to me.

I have to take DD somewhere that’s an hour away. She’ll be there for about four hours. Would you drop off and then go home, or would you do two round trips? The first way involves less travel but more milling around. I could get food and walk around, then park myself at a coffee shop. (There’s nothing particularly special to do at this location.) The other way involves four hours in the car but a couple of hours at home. I’m torn about which way is better. What would you pick?
