Then they went to HS and things calmed down. They go to a different HS than yours will but it’s close by. We haven’t heard of any fights or seen any additional awful videos.
Middle school is an awful time with behavior and hormones at their worst.
I am old. Went to a nice, suburban school. There were fights. I don't recall any physical girl fights, but there were definitely boys who fought.
This is nothing new.
Nothing new at all. I’m 50 and I remember the girl fights being more vicious than the boy fights. The difference is that no one could record anything back then.

Anonymous wrote:Third fight this year but only thing we get a letter about is principal asking kids not to record it. Good grief. What is going on with the messaging. And why are there so many fights?

This is no different than when I was in MS and HS. There were fights, plenty of them. I did not actually witness any but I knew kids were suspended for fighting and hurt in fights. Teens are hormonal, impulsive, and lacking tools to make good decisions. This was the case when we were teens and is the case today, even at the “good schools.”
I promise you that there have been more than 3 fights at Carson and every other MS this year. The email is telling you that other teens are not listening to teachers who are giving instructions while trying to break up or deal with the fight and that a big issue is kids trying to film the fight.
I would not be surprised if there are some teens who are asking their friends to film the fight because they think it wold be great tiktoc material.
There is a cadre of parents who want to protect the old reputation of Carson (gen of FCPS middle schools, TJ feeder) at any cost that they are unwilling to accept that it is simply no longer the case. You all pipe in any time someone dares to criticize. You know it is okay to demand better?
