Subject: Naming your kids with the same first initial?
If you already have 2 with the same first initial, I would do the 3rd with the same initial as well. Kids come up with all sorts of reasons to feel slighted compared to their siblings. I wouldn't start the game with having the 3rd already "different."
I'm sure there will be plenty of shade thrown my way for thinking this way, but I stand by my assertion.

My sister and I had names that start with the same initial, and neither of us ever gave it any thought. Never occurred to us that it could be considered “tacky.” And I’m pretty sure no one ever did consider it tacky.

It really depends on the names. If you love the names and they are what you would choose regardless of first initial, go ahead and do it.

It's fine. I did this and it has never been a problem. We enjoy it.

I had never considered my favorite name for my first started with the same letter as my husband. I would occasionally get them mixed up. My husband was set on a name with the same letter for our second, though not because of matching letters.
I don’t care if people think it was intentional. I hate it because I always say the wrong name and half the time I don’t notice I did it.

It’s really not cheesy when it’s accidental. The problem is that people will assume you did it on purpose when they hear the names.

The Peloton instructor Callie is married to a guy named Chris. They named their dog Charlie and then their son Cash, and now a girl named Cody. Do with that what you will.

He's just happy to be included.

No. Cheesy and not unique.

As long as you don’t have 20 like that family that used to be on TV.
Other pairings to avoid: Adam and Eve.

All three of my siblings have names that start with the same letter, but I don’t. It wasn’t on purpose, but I still think it’s slightly weird. No one else notices. I think it’s fine but I do think if you want a 4th, you are kind of locked in.

I think 2 is fine but three starts to be cheesy - bur you do you!

Who really cares what other people think? Personally, all of my children will have A names because my name starts with an A. I’m unapologetically egotistical.

Is naming your kids with the same first initial tacky (even if it’s coincidental)? Our two daughters both have names that begin with the letter N, and I’m realizing that the name we have picked out for this baby also begins with N. It wasn’t intentional. Apparently we just really like N names. I think 3 may be pushing it, though! I just don’t want to enter into Duggar or Kardashian territory.
